Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a waste gas after having preheated scraps introduced from an arc furnace. SOLUTION: One set of two regenerative heat exchangers 7A and 7B are mounted on a combustion tower 6. Branch waste gas ducts 8A and 8B of a waste gas duct 8 guided from a scrap preheating device 4 are connected to the regenerative heat exchangers 7A and 7B. Branch discharge ducts 15A and 15B branched from a discharge duct 15 are connected to the branch waste gas ducts 8A and 8B. After the waste gas is preheated with the regenerative heat exchanger 7A or 7B, the waste gas is introduced into he combustion tower 6 for combustion, thereby thermally cracking the waste gas. Then, the waste gas is cooled be way of the regenerative heat exchanger 7A or 7B and released to the atmosphere. The route of the waste gas is changed over for every required time and used.
