RECEIVER HAVING ANALOG AND DIGITAL VIDEO MODE AND RECEIVING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the signal processing time by using a large capacity memory provided for decoding a digital video signal for a frame memory required for an analog TV signal processing at the reception of an analog TV channel. SOLUTION: A memory control section 320 is made up of a plurality of multiplexers 320.1-320.n acting like switching devices and 1st input terminals a1 -an of each multiplexer are connected to input/output lines of a digital TV signal processing section 200. On the other hand, 2nd input terminals c1 -cn are connected to input/output lines of an analog TV signal processing section 100. Then the multiplexers 320.1-320.n are used for frame buffers for Y/C separator and post-processing to connect input/output lines of a memory 330 are connected to the input/output lines of the analog TV signal processing section 100 when a mode selection signal outputted from a control section 310 indicates the analog video mode. Thus, the efficiency of the digital video signal memory is enhanced.
