Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an elevating operation almost continuously. SOLUTION: Elevating equipment 2 has a guide rod 4, three sets of chuck mechanisms 6, 8 and 10 and two sets of jack mechanisms 12 and 14. In the case when the elevating equipment 2 is made to rise, locking of the guide rod 4 by the first and third chuck mechanisms 6 and 10 is canceled. Then, the second jack mechanism 14 extends, while the first jack mechanism 12 contracts, and thereby the first chuck mechanism 6 and the third chuck mechanism 10 are made to rise. Subsequently, the guide rod 4 is locked by the third chuck mechanism 10 and locking by the second chuck mechanism 8 is canceled. Simultaneously with completion of these locking and unlocking operations, the first jack mechanism 12 extends, the second jack mechanism 14 contracts and the first chuck mechanism 6 and the second chuck mechanism 8 are made to rise. Accordingly, the first chuck mechanism 6 rises continuously.
