SOLUTION: A compound of formula I X1 -X7 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl; R1 , R2 are each R11 [R11 is a >=7C (substituted)alkylcarbonyl, a substituted alkenylcarbonyl], R12 (R12 is H, a 1-6C alkylcarbonyl, a 2-3C alkenylcarbonyl) wherein when R1 is R12 , R2 is R11 ; R3 is H, a 1-5C alkyl; Z is =N-NO2 , =CH-NO2 , =N-CN}. For example, 1-methyl-2-nitro-1,3-bis(pentadecylcarbonyl)-3-[(3-tetrahydrofuryl)met hyl]guanidine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula: R1 -Cl in the presence of a base.
