METHOD FOR CURING VINYL ESTER RESIN AND COMPOSITION USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for curing a vinyl ester resin whereby a cured item having a high degree of curing and contg. little unreacted polymerizable unsatd. monomer can be obtd. without causing the foaming in mixing the resin with a curative and a cure accelerator while imparting a long pot life to the resultant mixture and to provide a compsn. for curing the resin. SOLUTION: This curing method comprises reacting a vinyl ester resin with a curative comprising a tert-alkyl peroxy ester alone or together with a substd. hydroperoxide in the presence of a cure accelerator comprising a metal soap and a β-diketone. This compsn. for curing a vinyl ester resin at normal temp. comprises the first liq. comprising a tert-alkyl peroxy ester, a β-diketone, and if it is necessary a substd. hydroperoxide and the second liq. comprising a metal soap.
