CAPPING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct, before a cap-temporarily-tightening process, the position of a cap so that the axis of the cap and that of the threaded part of a container may be aligned, and resolve failure in cap screwing. SOLUTION: Cap-position correction device 8 having a cap-position correction member 18, which comes into contact with the periphery of a cap placed over the mouth of a container and rotates the cap in a direction opposite to the direction where the cap is screwed, and a plurality of cap-top-face-pressing springs is provided upstream from a temporary tightening device 9 which temporarily tightens the screw cap. When the container reaches the position of the cap-position correction device 8, the cap-position correction member 17 comes into contact with the cap periphery, with a frictional force and by the movement of the container 30 the cap 32 is rotated in the direction opposite to the direction where it is screwed, and by pressing the top face of the cap by means of the cap-top-face-pressing spring the position of the cap is corrected naturally so as to be horizontal, so that the axes of the container and cap may be aligned.
