OPTICAL CHARACTER READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the correction time by storing characters for substitution in a storage part by character types, making a control part display the characters for substitution on a display part and retrieving and inputting the substitution characters with a mouse. SOLUTION: The mouse 10 is used as a substitution character designation means. The control part is connected with the storage part 11. The substitution characters are stored in the storage part 11 by character types. The column of the selected character, in which the substitution character selected from among the characters of a substitution character group is displayed, and a selection key for recognition are stored in the storage part 11. The control part is provided with a function for displaying a window and the substitution character on the display part 8. Thus, the substitution character can easily be retrieved and inputted, and the correction work can be shortened by storing the substitution characters in the storage part 11 by character types, by permitting the control part to display the substitution character on the display part 8 and retrieving the inputting the substitution characters with the mouse 10.
