Zusammenfassung:Method for working up the reaction gas (I) of Cl2, HCl, O2 and water vapour from the oxidn. of HCl to Cl2 and water comprises (a) cooling (I) discharged from the reactor (1) until water of reaction and HCl condense as conc. hydrochloric acid (II); (b) sepg. (II) from (I) in a phase sepn. column (3) and discharging (II); (c) passing the remaining (I), free from water and pt. of the HCl, through a drying tower (6); (d) compressing dried (I), comprising Cl2, O2 and HCl, to 2-10 bar in a compressor (7); (e) passing compressed (I) through a cooled Cl2 recuperator (8) to liquefy most of the Cl2; and (f) recycling (pt.) of the uncondensable components of (I) to the reactor (1).
