DEVICE FOR PREPARING LEAF-STEM GREEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device for mechanically removing unnecessary lower leaves from a harvested leaf-stem green such as spinach. SOLUTION: (1) Unnecessary lower leaves attached to the root part side of a harvested leaf-stem green are nipped between a pair of mutually faced inward rotated rotation rolls and between another pair of mutually faced inward rotated rotation rolls, and subsequently pulled off. (2) The rolls are formed in the same diameters or in tapered diameters, separated from each other at a constant distance which can be adjusted, and arranged in parallel or in non- parallel to each other. (3) A blowing or sucking mechanism for guiding the unnecessary lower leaves of the leaf-stem green is disposed in the lower leaf- removing mechanism, and the rotation rolls have structures facilitating the passage of blown air or suction air. (4) A carrying mechanism for nipping the tip part of the leaf-stem green and continuously carrying the root part side in the space of the lower leaf-removing mechanism is disposed.
