Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersant highly effective for inorganic pigments, cements, agricultural chemical granules, scales, detergent builders, and digging sludges. SOLUTION: This dispersant comprises a (co)polymer obtained by polymerizing at least one α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid (salt) using a radical- polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent for radical polymerization represented by the formula. In the formula, Q is a polyvalent organic group; X is carbonyl or CONH; A and A each is a divalent organic group; X is oxygen, sulfur, or NH; Z is a chain-transferring group; (p), (q), (r), and (x) each independently is 0 or 1; (m) is an integer of 0-50; and (n) is an integer of 2-100. The segments respectively within the []'s may be the same or different. The segments respectively within the }'s when (m) is 2-50 may be the same or different.
