Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To detect the position or the attitude of a work for correction by fixing a 1st work at a prescribed position by a pressing means, etc., in a loadable/unloadable way and then fixing a measurement means in a single body with a work fixing member. CONSTITUTION: An inner ring 2 serving as a 2nd work, i.e., a right barrel is automatically fitted to a wheel axle 1 serving as a 1st work, i.e., a right cylinder via a robot 3 that has plural degrees of freedom. A measurement assembly 4 related to the axle 1 and the ring 2 is fixed on a floor, i.e., a fixed position via a stand, and the base of the robot 3 is also fixed on the floor. Thus, the relative position is fixed between the assembly 4 and the robot 3. A V-block 8 has a pair of reception faces to receive the outer circumference surface of the axle 4 and fixed to a base 10 that is fixed on the stand. In such a constitution, the position or the attitude of each work is detected and the fitting job between both works can be automatically excuted.
