DRUM CLEANER AND CLEANING METHOD

PURPOSE: To prevent the redeposition of contaminant on a drum and to ovbiate nonuniform drying. CONSTITUTION: A drum 1 to be cleaned is hung down with the axial center of the drum 1 vertical, the outside of the drum 1 is covered with an outer cylinder 13, and the lower ends of the drum 1 and cylinder 13 are dipped in a cleaning soln. 3 stored in a cleaning tank 2. The drum 1, cylinder 13 and space surrounded by the cleaning soln. 3 are evacuated under such conditions, and hence the cleaning soln. 3 is sucked up and passed unidirectionally through the space between the drum 1 and cylinder 13. When the pressure in the space is restored to the original state, the cleaning soln. 3 remaining in the space is also returned to the cleaning tank 2.
