Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain a perfume composition containing (iso)rosefuran epoxide, having natural, soft green scent, and useful as a perfume material for foods, cosmetics, indoor fragrances, etc. CONSTITUTION: This perfume composition contains pref. 0.5-10 (esp. 1-5)wt.% of rosefuran epoxide of formula I or isorosefuran epoxide of formula II. The (iso)rosefuran epoxide is obtained, for example, by a process wherein an aqueous solution containing potassium ferricyanide and potassium carbonate is incorporated with a t-butanol solution of osmium tetroxide followed by (iso)rosefuran; the mixture is then agitated to oxidize the (iso)rosefuran into its dihydroxy form, which is then dissolved in a mixture of THF and pyridine followed by chilling to
