ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR AND ELECTROLYTE FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: To obtain electrolyte, which has a low specific resistance value and moreover, has a high sparking voltage and has stable spark characteristics, by a method wherein the electrolyte contains the quarternary ammonium of a cyanic acid, an organic phosphate a phosphoric acid, at least one kind of a component selected from these salts, water and an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: Tetraethylammonium cyanate is dissolved in a γ-butyrolactone and a solution of a concentration of about 20% is prepared. An organic phosphate such as the tetraammonium monobutyl phosphate, a phosphoric acid, at least one kind of a component selected from these salts and water are added to this solution to prepare an electrolyte. Thereby, the electrolyte, which has a low specific resistance value, is high and stable in sparking voltage and is sueprior in withstand voltage characteristics, and a highly reliable electrolytic capacitor, which is provided with this electrolyte, can be obtained.
