DISC CARTRIDGE

PURPOSE: To obtain a disc cartridge in which a plurality of optical pickup insertion holes and a center hole can be opened and closed easily and positively while protecting a pair of shutters against flexure or deformation. CONSTITUTION: An upper half 20 and a lower half 10 constitute a flat housing cartridge body 2 for housing a magneto-optical disc 30 rotatably. The lower half 10 is provided with a center hole 11 and four optical pickup insertion holes 12. The lower half 10 is also provided with a pair of stoppers 14, 14 for stopping a pair of shutters 40, 40 at the notched parts 41b in the front fringe parts 41a thereof disposed closely each other. The lower half 10 is also provided with grooves 16, horizontal guiding parts 15a, etc., for guiding the front fringe part 42a, 42a of the pair of shutters 40, 40 disposed closely each other. The guide grooves 16 and the guiding part 15a protect the shutter against flexure or deformation at the time of closure thus enhancing the dust-proof performance.
