METHOD FOR DETECTING TAPE CUT

PURPOSE: To enable any tape cut to be detected without affecting tape passage by winding a tape on the peripheral surface of a cable to travel by a receiving machine, and outputting a tape cut detecting signal when the moving amount of the cable exceeds the upper or lower limit value of moving amount set values. CONSTITUTION: When a receiving machine is operated by a speed command from a program controller after a work program is set, winding of a tape 22 is performed on a cable 21. When the tape 22 is not cut at this time, a tape pad 6 is rotated by a motor 8 through a powder clutch 9, and the powder clutch 9 slides by a tension between the tape 22 and the cable 21, and the rotation of the tape pad 6 is slowed. The moving amount set value and the measured moving amount are compared with each other by a data comparator 4. When the measured moving amount exceeds the upper or lower limit value of the moving amount set value, it is judged that the tape is cut, and speed control of the receiving machine is performed, and also an alarm buzzer 16 is sounded.
