Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent a color shade on a screen and nonuniformity of illuminance, and eliminate reduction in illuminance of the screen by coating an inside surface of a reflecting mirror with a heatray transmitting film, and forming a part of the reflecting mirror into a curved surface different from a basic curved surface CONSTITUTION:Sealing parts are formed on both ends of a short arc metal halide lamp 1 composed of a quartz light emitting tube in which electrodes are sealed on both ends, and inside which mercury, noble gas, dysprosium iodide, neodymium iodide and cesium iodide are sealed, and the electrodes and external lead wires are connected to each other through molybdenum foil. An end part outside surface of the light emitting tube 1 is coated with a white reflecting and heat insulating film 2, and a central light emitting part is formed as a clear surface 3. One end part of the light emitting tube 1 is fixed to a bottom part of a hard glass revolution paraboloidal reflecting mirror 4. A reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror 4 is coated with a heat-ray transmitting film, and is formed as a cold mirror surface. A circumferential dimple surface 5 is formed with the bottom part center of the reflecting mirror 4 as its center, and a curved surface different from a basic curved surface of the reflecting surface is formed.
