AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER

PURPOSE: To provide an automatic document feeder capable of surely carrying a document onto a platen glass without jamming. CONSTITUTION: The automatic document feeder constituted so that at least one document D placed on a document tray 12 is fetched to the platen glass P of a device C having at least a document image reading function and set in a fixed image reading position, to receive a prescribed image reading operation and then, ejected on a paper ejecting table is provided with an outside case cover 16 attached so as to move between a closing position for covering the platen glass P and an opening position for exposing it, a document holding sheet 26 attached to the rear surface of the outside case cover 16 and having flexibility, a notched part formed in an opened state in a nearly central part in a direction perpendicular to the carrying direction of the document, on the edge on a document fetching side of the document holding sheet 26 and a rocking means 44 vertically moving the edges on the document fetching side of tongue piece parts prescribed on both sides of the notched part.
