Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain an inspection system in which the safety of an operation is ensured and which can inspect a tall and stout stack in a short period by a method wherein a steel plate thickness measuring probe, a coating film thickness measuring probe, a TV camera, a distance measuring device and the like are mounted on a magnet running vehicle which is run on the surface of the cylinder of a steel stack and they are remote controlled. CONSTITUTION: A magnet running vehicle 1 is constituted of a cart 2, a plurality of wheels 3, four DC motors 4 for driving, a transmission device 5, a suspension device and the like. The respective wheels 3 are attached via springs in such a way that their distance to the cart 2 is variable. The respective motors 4 can be turned forward and reversely. Thereby, the running vehicle 1 which has been attracted to a stack cylinder by means of the magnet wheels 3 can be raised, lowered, direction-changed and horizontally moved. A TV camera 15 for observation of an outward appearance is mounted on the upper part of the running vehicle 1, and a TV camera 16 for observation of a measuring part, a steel plate thickness measuring probe 11 and a coating film thickness measuring probe 12 are mounted on one end part via a probe raising and lowering device 7. Then, a control cable is connected to the running vehicle 1, and a measuring apparatus is remote controlled while the running operation of the running vehicle 1 is being controlled by a control panel.
