Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To make the potential gradient across respective cylindrical electrodes gentle by connecting the respective cylindrical electrodes of an electron gun with a sintered compact having a composition consisting essentially of alumina and a specific oxide added thereto. CONSTITUTION: This alumina-based sintered compact for an electron gun comprises 70-96wt.% alumina, 1-20wt.% titanium oxide, 0.1-1.0wt.% vanadium pentoxide and at least one (preferably 3.0-20.0wt.%) of calcium oxide, chromium oxide, cobalt oxide, magnesium oxide, silica, manganese oxide and iron oxide as the remainder.
