AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER

PURPOSE: To carry documents accurately separated one by one in a simple mechanism by driving plural paddles with the rotation of a separately driven shaft and drawing the documents at the upper most position on a document guide member near the rolling contact portion between a document separating roller and a separating pad. CONSTITUTION: When documents are separated and fed in, the documents fed in a mainbody are guided to the carrying direction by a document guide member 120. A separately driven shaft 124 arranged upward of the document guide member 120 is rotationally driven to one direction and a document separating roller 122 fixed coaxially with the separately driven s!raft 124 and a separating pad 128 put in press contact therewith are respectively driven. In addition, paddles 144A, 144B located at at least one side of the document, separating roller 122 and fixed to the separately driven shaft 124 are driven with the rotation of the separately driven shaft 124. The document at the uppermost position on the document guide member 120 is drawn the rolling contact portion between the document separating roller 122 and the separation pad 128.
