CENTERING APPARATUS FOR GAS TURBINE, STEAM TURBINE OR GENERATOR

PURPOSE: To improve the operating efficiency by automating the centering operation by detecting the rotating displacement of a rotor, rotating it at a predetermined displacement, then stopping it and automatically measuring the position of the shaft to be centered and mounted at the rotor. CONSTITUTION: Wheels 6 are rotated by a DC motor 5. The motor 5 is connected to a controller 2 for controlling the rotating speeds of the wheels 6. In order to automatically measure the distance between the shaft ends of units and the relative distance between the upper and lower shafts and the right and left shafts by the arbitrary rotating displacement of the rotor, a potentiometer 3 for measuring the rotating displacement of the centering rotor 1 is provided, and connected to the controller 2. A positioner 4 for measuring the distances between the shafts is also connected to the controller 2. When it is sensed that the rotating displacement of the centering rotor is arrived at the previously set measuring displacement, the controller 2 oscillates a measuring command to the positioner 4. Thus, the entire measuring operation is automated.
