Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide an archive recording system which can improve the use efficiency of a tape. CONSTITUTION: Compressed image data are read out of buffers 9 to 12 and recorded on the tape by a magnetic tape recording device 14 so that the data are successive only the length direction of the tape, so the space and cost for the storage of an image signal and a sound signal in great volume can greatly be reduced by compressing and storing the signals. Specially, the time required for the storage is greatly shortened and high-speed reproduction is easily performed, so the use efficiency of the tape is improved and the stored signals are used very advantageously.
