ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIALGAL HOSE, TUBE OR CHOPPING BOARD

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject products not causing a polution and a coloration, and excellent in safety, stabilities to light and heat, and appearance maintaining characteristics by molding a resin composition obtained by blending an extract of bamboos to a polyvinylchloride resin or a polyolefinic resin. CONSTITUTION: The molded products comprise a resin composition consisting of (A) a resin component selected from a polyvinylchloride resin and a polyolefin resin (e.g. a polypropylene or a high density polyethylene) and (B) an extract of bamboos so as to provide preferably 0.1-2wt.% blending ratio based on the resin composition. The extract of bamboos is obtained by crushing the leaves or epidermises of the stems of the bamboos with a ball mill, etc., extracting them with an organic solvent such as ethanol, etc., and then removing the solvent from the extract. Furthermore, in the case of using the polyvinylchloride resin as the component A, it is preferable to uniformly mix an additive such as a plasticizer with the resin and then add the component B, and in the case of using the polyolefin resin, it is preferable to first acid the component B to the crushed resin, uniformly mix both and then blend another component.
