Zusammenfassung: | Prepn. of a 4-16C alkyl elastomer comprises slurry copolymerisation of 4-16C isoolefins with 4-6C conjugated diolefins and/or cationically polymerisable, 4-16C mono- or poly unsaturated organic cpds. Polymerisation is in the presence of methyl chloride and a Friedel-Kraft catalyst at -70 to -105 degrees C and 1-10 bar. The process is carried out in the presence of 1-20 wt.%, based on the continuous phase, of a 4-8C linear, branched and/or cyclic alkanes. Pref. the polymerisation is carried out in the presence of 3-13 wt.% of the alkanes. The alkane are pentanes, hexanes, cyclohexane and/or heptanes. Pref. it is isohexane and/or n-hexane. |
