MEDICINE BEING SUITABLE FOR USING AS ANTIDOTE TO ANTICOAGULANT AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for antagonizing an anticoagulant, containing a prothrombin. SOLUTION: This medicine contains a prothrombin containing an active fragment or its variant capable of being prepared by a routine procedure or especially by gene manipulation and is suitable as an antidote to an anticoagulant. The prothrombin is used in concentration of 1-2,000 IU, especially preferably 10-1,000 IU based on 1 kg of a target patient to be treated. Examples of anticoagulants include glycosaminoglycan, sulfated polysaccharide, factor Xao or thrombin inhibitor, protein C-based component, a vitamin K antagonist group, a substance acting on blood platelet activation and/or blood platelet aggregation or blood platelet adhesion, a substance capable of improving endogenous ability of fibrinolysis and a stimulant for synthesis and secretion of a plasminogen activator inhibitor.
