Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To judge focusing by performing a 2nd detecting process when the reliability of a 1st detection result is low and comparing the 2nd detection result with the 1st detection result after the 2nd detection so as to enable focus detection which is precise and short in range finding time even if a low-frequency noise is generated in a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The output of a light measurement part 12 is supplied to a microcomputer 10 as terminal AEDATA through a compression part 13 and an output part 14. The line sensor 15 consisting of a photodetection part 15a and a light shield part 15b, a read part 18, and a shift register 19 are connected to a control part 11 connected to the microcomputer 10. The outputs of the photodetection part 15a and light shield part 15b are supplied from terminal AFDATA to the microcomputer 10 through peak detection parts 16a and 16b, a subtracter and a sample holding circuit 17, and an output part. A signal which is read out by a shift register 19 is amplified by an amplification part 20.
