EXTERNAL PAPER FITTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR METAL PLATE COIL

PURPOSE: To prevent lumps from generating on a paper pleat, and obtain an always uniform paper pleat pitch by a method wherein when the pleat is formed by a brush roller and press roller, one of valley form parts of the pleat is pressed by an air injection, and the other valley form part is stood by a shuttle lever. CONSTITUTION: An external paper 13 which is folded into a U-shape in advance is fed on the outer peripheral surface of a metal plate coil 14 which is mounted on a cradle roll 11. When the tip of the external paper 13 is tightly joined to the coil 14, and the coil 14 is rotated, a paper pleat is generated from both end surfaces of the coil 14 extending to the peripheral end edge of the coil internal diameter part. The paper pleat is stood by a shuttle lever 3, and formed by putting folding lines by a brush roller 7 and press roller 8. In this case, when the pleat is stood by the shuttle lever 3, air is injected in the coil side surface direction from air nozzles 22-25 which are arranged on the brush roller 7 in advance. By this method, the pressing of the valley form part at the paper pleat end to the coil side surface is kept, and lumps on the paper pleat are prevented from generating.
