DATA RETRIEVING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to use up-to-date data out of a data base, a program or the like supplied through a medium such as a CD-ROM of which contents can not be updated without substituting the medium. CONSTITUTION:A RAM 3 is used for constant, variable and temporary storage areas to be used when a CPU 1 executes a program. Since the stored contents of a RAM 4 can be stored by battery backup or the like from a part of the RAM 3 also when power supply is interrupted, the RAM 4 can be used for the storage of an updating data table and a data body table. Even in a data base stored in an unrewritable non-volatile recording medium 2 whose correction, suppression and addition are difficult, a retrieved output can be changed, suppressed or added in accordance with the contents of the updating data table and the data body table.
