Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain flame-retarding paper which contains ammonium polyphosphate coated with melamine, thus can reduce the flow-off of the flame- retardant into waste water, when this paper is produced, and shows good flame- proofing properties and water resistance. CONSTITUTION:Melamine-coated ammonium polyphosphate particles are crosslinked on their surface by treating them with a crosslinking agent such as formaldehyde to prepare coated particles of ammonium polyphosphate having less than 15mum average particle size. Dry cellulose fibers are impregnated with these particles of coated ammonium polyphosphate in an amount of 5-50wt.%, preferably 10-30wt.%. This paper does not reduce its flame-proofing properties even after it is exposed to rain water.
