Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide an image pickup device superior in operability by which the increase in scale of a device and the increment of a cost can be suppressed to a minimum. CONSTITUTION:This image pickup device controls the operating state of an AGC circuit, and also, performs control for the state of a diaphragm 11 via a diaphragm control circuit 13 based on exposure time set by an exposure time setting circuit 22. At this time, control for light quantity and that for a gain are detected via a GCA gain detection circuit 21, and the exposure time can be set as confirming a displayed gain, which provides superior convenience and high operability.
