Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To reduce noises of inflow air by forming a narrow passage communicating with a first plenum chamber with openings communicating with air introduction pipes and a second plenum chamber with air supply pipes communicating with the air. CONSTITUTION: This air silencer 31 has a first plenum chamber 33 and a series of openings 35 of the same number as air introduction pipes, i.e., intake pipes 23, while the openings 35 communicate with the first plenum chamber 33. The air silencer 31 also has a second plenum chamber 41 and a series of air supply pipes 43 each communicating with the air and the second plenum chamber 41. A narrow passage 51 extends between the first and second plenum chambers 33, 41, while a housing 61 comprises a first and a second members 63, 65. An interval between an opposite wall part of the second plenum chamber 41 and the inner end of the air supply pipe 43 is set to about 6.35 mm (about 1/4 in.).
