PRODUCTION OF SUSPENSION FOR MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To obtain a process for production of a suspension for a magnetic head integrally formed with wiring members and the suspension for connection to a magnetic head element and a read/write amplifier part substrate. CONSTITUTION:A required flexible insulating base material 2 is formed on one surface of a spring-like metallic layer 7 by using a nonphotosensitive polyimide resin layer or photosensitive insulating resin layer. Required circuit wiring patterns 3 are formed by a plating method on the upper part of the flexible insulating base material 2 while conductive metallic thin films are used; thereafter, a surface protective layer 4 is formed on the surface of the circuit wiring patterns 3. The spring-like metallic layer 7 is then subjected to an etching treatment and bending, by which the required suspension 1 is formed.
