Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the surface potential of a photoreceptor from lowering and to prevent fogging from occurring. CONSTITUTION:At the time of electrifying the photoreceptor 14, electron injection from a conductive substrate 14a to a photosensitive layer 14e is prevented by an under-coating layer 14b, whereby the surface potential of the photoreceptor 14 is not attenuated and kept constant. In the case of exposing from the inner surface of the photoreceptor 14, carrier 30b generated in a charge generating layer 14c moves toward the surface of the photoreceptor 14, and the electron injection is prevented by the under-coating layer 14b, at such a time, so that the surface potential is negated only by the carrier 30b generated by exposure. Therefore, the carrier 30b drifting in a charge transport layer 14d does not exist, and the potential after exposure is made stable. Since the electron injection is not performed in the case of electrifying the photoreceptor 14 again, thereafter, the surface potential is prevented from getting uneven.
