Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To determine good or no-good of an encoder surely by providing a switch dealing with a plurality of types of encoder, arranging an identification member for lighting a terminal to be connected with a wiring selected by means of the switch, thereby determining a terminal to be connected with a cable quickly. CONSTITUTION:When a TTL system encoder is inspected, a switch 9 is turned to the terminal 10 side. Consequently, LEDs 13-15 are lighted to indicate connection of an encoder cable with connection terminals 22-24. When an open system encoder is inspected, the switch 9 is turned to the terminal 11 side. Consequently, LEDs 16, 18, 20 are lighted to indicate connection of the encoder cable with connection terminals 25, 27, 29. In case of a line driver system, the switch 9 is turned to the terminal 12 side to light a relevant LED.
