REINFORCING BAR JOINT

PURPOSE:To improve the workability and strength by engaging ribs of reinforcing bars to be connected to each other with annular grooves provided on the inner faces of two tubular half bodies, and in addition, fitting a sleeve onto the outer faces of the tubular half bodies. CONSTITUTION:The end faces of reinforcing bars 1, 2 are confronted with each other, and the ribs 1a, 2a of the bars 1, 2 are engaged with the annular grooves 3b, 4b provided on tubular half bodies 3, 4. Next a sleeve 5 is fitted onto the tubular half bodies 3, 4, and one end of the sleeve 5 is contacted with the flanges 3a, 4a of the tubular half bodies 3, 4. Next the other end of the sleeve 5 is fixed by stopper pins 6 press-fitted in the holes 3c, 4c provided on the tubular half bodies 3, 4, so as to obstruct movement of the sleeve 5 in the axial direction on the tubular half bodies 3, 4. In addition if necessary, a reinforcing ring 7 is welded onto the sleeve 5 so as to improve the strength in the center range of the sleeve 5. Hereby, this joint can be easily assembled, and its durability and strength can be improved.
