Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound which has a polyoxyalkylene chain having an oxycarbonylimidazole group specifically reactive with an amino group at one end and having a maleimido group specifically reactive with a thiol group at the other end and can imobilize various substances through the polyoxyalkylene chain. CONSTITUTION:This derivative is represented by the formula (wherein AO is a 2-4 C oxyalkylene group; and n is the average number of moles of addition of AO groups and is 1-0000, provided that AO groups may the same or different from each other when n is 2 or greater, or may be bonded with each other by random or block addition; Y is a bivalent organic residue; and R is H or methyl).
