Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new antitumor active compound FD-594 by culturing a strain newly separated from the natural world, having antitumor action, having physical and chemical properties such as a specific molecular formula, molecular weight, melting point, solubility, etc., being in a yellowish powdery state, having an unknown structure. CONSTITUTION:A strain of Streptoverticillium baldacci TA-0256 (FERM P-14,406) newly separated from the natural world is cultured in a medium to give new antitumor active compound FD-594 having appearance in yellowish powdery state, 217-220 deg.C melting point, a mass spectrometric analysis value of SIMS spectrum m/z 941 (M+H), SIMS (+KI) spectrum m/z 979 (M+H), anion FABMS spectrum m/z 939 (M-H), a measured value of FABMS-high resolving power mass spectrum of 979.3009 (theoretical value 970.2975), molecular formula C43H52N6O18 and molecular weight 940 and being soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and pyridine, slightly soluble in methanol, acetone and chloroform and insoluble in water and hexane.
