Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide an evaporator for liquefied gas which can efficiently be adapted to, from a large flow rate to a small flow rate without inviting the reduction of an evaporation efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An evaporator 1 for liquefied gas has a liquid-distribution chamber 6 and a gas collecting chamber 7, and has system wherein the liquid distribution chamber 6 and the gas collecting chamber 7 are communicated with a large number of heating tubes 8. For such an evaporator 1, a gas-purging line 19 is connected to the liquid distribution chamber 6, and the gas-purging line 19 is connected to the gas collecting chamber 7 or a gas outlet line 12 which communicates with the gas collecting chamber 7. Then, a float check valve 20 is provided on the gas-purging line 19. Also, a partitioning plate is provided in the liquid distribution chamber to provide liquid distribution chambers for a small flow rate.
