IMAGE FORMATION DEVICE

PURPOSE: To smoothly read a plurality of recorded paper sheets just like the ordinary writings by setting a plurality of images in a prescribed position relation based on the feeding direction of the paper sheet and the mounted direction of the document and recording them on the paper sheets. CONSTITUTION: The arrangement position of a document is calculated from the layout number and the document number of one side of a paper sheet for a contraction layout according to a prescribed expression. In the case of two layout, for example, when an automatic lateral feeding paper sheet is selected for a long sideways and vertically written document (a case of the lowest two section from the left in the table), image data are so processed that the image is formed in the position and direction shown with arrows (a), (b) according to the calculated document arrangement positions. The image data are processed so that the image is formed in the position and direction shown with arrows (c), (d) respectively. When the long sides of the paper sheets are bound, the scope copy is so executed that the position shown with (c) and (d) are fallen in the back of the positions shown with (a) and (b), respectively.
