Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device enhanced in the uniformity of luminance. CONSTITUTION: In this liquid crystal display device 9, a dotted printing pattern and a light reflector 7 are provided on one principal plane of a light transmission plate 4 on whose end face a fluorescent lamp 5 is disposed, a liquid crystal panel 3 is disposed on the other principal plane side through a light diffusing plate 6, and a reflector 8 is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the lamp 5. In the device 9, the light introduced to the plate 4 from the lamp 5 is emitted from the other principal plane so as to be projected to the effective display area of the panel 3, and a light diffusing part 11 is provided near one main principal plane of the plate 4 on the reflector 8.
