Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a muffler protecting cover that can efficiently release the driving heat of an engine and the exhaust heat of a muffler itself to the outside of a machine so as to be able to heighten cooling effect by improving the shape of the protecting cover. CONSTITUTION: A protecting cover 15 for covering the upper face area of a muffler 16 with an upper cover 15a and the lower face area of the muffler 16 with a lower cover 15b is mounted in a vertically dividable state, and a rising piece 33 is provided at the edge of the lower cover 15b positioned on the discharge side of the muffler 16. The upper cover 15a is formed in the state of having an opening part 28a formed along the shape of a ventilating hole bored in a bonnet cover, and an opening part 34 facing the upper part of an engine 5 is formed between the upper cover 15a and the lower cover 15b covering the lower face area of the muffler 16.
