MULTIPLE NUMBER LIMITING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide communication impartially to subscribers by aborting a communication cell when the number of multiple identifiers in use for each subscriber line or relay line exceeds a contracted maximum multiple number. CONSTITUTION:A subscriber's number of use management memory 4 manages a current multiple identifier number for each subscriber and a control section 2 and an arithmetic section 3 increase/decrease number of multiple identifiers in the memory 4 according to use request 7 and a use management request 8. On the occurrence of the use request 7, an increase request is fed to the control section 2 and a subscriber identifier is fed to memories 4, 5 as memory address. The memory 5 manages the maximum number of multiple identifiers allowed for each subscriber and when a comparator section 6 discriminates it that (the number of current uses and the number of uses requested) exceeds a maximum number of multiple identifiers, a data abort signal is publicated. Thus, when a head cell is received, a cell processing section 1 conduct passing processing or abort processing of a packet started from the head cell.
