Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To carry out smooth discharge action without damaging an article by carrying the article to be sorted to a discharge device by placing it on a round belt provided on a slat conveyor and discharging it at a discharge position as the round belt is rotated. CONSTITUTION: An article is carried by a slat conveyor 1 constituted by supporting a large number of discharge belt units 10 for several links each on conveyor chains 7, 7, and the article reaches a designated discharge portion. At this time, a first guide rail 19 or a second guide rail 20 of a guide rail unit 18 provided in correspondence with a discharge part is made contact with a friction roller 17 of the discharge belt unit 10 of the slat conveyor 1 by an operating mechanism 21. The friction roller 17 is rotated by friction with the first guide rail 19 or the second guide rail 20 in accordance with movement of the slat conveyor 1.
