CLASSIFYING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To install a classifying device in a small space so as to improve classifying work. CONSTITUTION: A classifying device is provided with a carrier conveyor 3 having a flat carrying surface with a plurality of discharging parts 4 provided in left and right sides of its carrying direction, a left and right dividing conveyor 2 arranged in its upstream side for feeding articles to the center of the width direction of the carrier conveyor 3 by dividing these in left and right sides and a plurality of classifying units 6A and 6B provided so as to be freely run back and froth along the carrier conveyor 3 for delivering an article 9 to the specified discharging part 4. Each of the classifying units 6A and 6B is provided with a pair of left and right discharging belt 61 rotated in surfaces roughly vertical to the carrying surface of the carrier conveyor 3 in directions reverse to each other for delivering the article 9 on the carrier conveyor 3 to the specified discharging part 4 and a raising/lowering part 70 for supporting the discharging belt 61 so as to be freely raised/lowered between a position for performing a discharging operation by coming into contact with the article 9 on the carrier conveyor 3 and a position for passing the article to the downstream of the carrier conveyor 3 by retreating to the upper side of the carrier conveyor 3.
