Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a preventing device for dropping and catching of a chain for a bicycle, able to cope with multistage sprockets, having both dropping and catching preventing functions, to be reliably and easily attached, and having a simple structure in which a chain case can be assembled. CONSTITUTION: In a dropping preventing device for a driving chain 10 arranged between a hanger lug 2 for supporting a crankshaft 6 and to be arranged on the lower end of a seat tube 3, and multistage sprockets 7, 8, 9 fixed to the crankshaft 6, a dropping preventing part 1A for preventing the driving chain 10 from being dropped in the axial direction, and a catching preventing part 1B for preventing the driving chain 10 from being caught between the crankshaft 6 and the hanger lug 2 or between the sprockets 7, 8, 9 and a chain stay 4 are integrally provided.
