Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing polyvinyl alcohol, zirconium ammonium carbonate, etc., exhibiting excellent heat resistance and useful as a sizing agent for stainless paper, heat-resistant paper or glass fiber. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) a polyvinyl alcohol (e.g. having 200-5000 average degree of polymerization and >=70mol% degree of saponification) and (B) zirconium ammonium carbonate or zirconyl ammonium carbonate, e.g. in an amount of 0.5-5 pts.wt. in terms of solid content based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A. The composition is obtained by mixing an aqueous solution containing the component A with an aqueous solution containing the component B.
