Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a barrier material having a metal vapor deposition layer with specific thickness and capable of keeping low oxygen permeability, low steam permeability and shading properties. CONSTITUTION: A barrier material 1 is obtained by providing a coating layer 4 consisting of a water-soluble high polymer and metal alkoxide or a hydrolysate thereof on the vapor deposition surface of a vapor deposition film wherein a metal vapor deposition layer 3 with a thickness of 100-1000 is provided on a base material and a laminated material is obtained by providing a heat sealing resin layer 5 on the coating layer of the barrier material 1.
