Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain a color filter substrate for a color liquid crystal display device which exhibits excellent display quality in a high-temp. and high-humidity atmosphere and has high affinity by specifying the surface roughness of the color filter forming surface side of first transparent conductive layer. CONSTITUTION: This color filter substrate 1 is constituted by forming color filter layers 4 consisting of a black matrix 5 and colored layers 6 on the first transparent conductive layer 3 for electrodeposition disposed on an insulating transparent substrate 2. Further, a second transparent conductive layer 7 for driving liquid crystals is formed on these color filter layers 4. The color filter layer 4 forming surface side of the first transparent conductive layer 3 has a surface of which the surface roughness (Rmax) at a measurement length of 10000nm is >=10nm and more preferably 10 to 50nm. As a result, the first transparent conductive layer 3 acts as an anchor link to the color filter layers 4 and the color filter layers 4 are held with sufficient adhesive power onto the first transparent conductive layer 3.
