FIELD WELDING METHOD OF STEEL SKELETON BEAM AND COLUMN

PURPOSE: To increase the wolding workability at the time when the flange of a steel skeleton beam with an H-shaped section is connected with butt- welding to the flange of a column steel frame without providing a scallop in the web. CONSTITUTION: Backing metals 6, 7 of the flange 2 of a steel skeleton beam 1 are positioned to butt against the flange 5 of a steel skeleton column 4 and the web 3 of the steel skeleton beam 1 is bolted with a gusset plate 8 projected at the flange 5 of column 4, with a root distance ranging 5-15mm between the end face of the beam 1 and the flange 5 of the column. Thereafter, both flanges 2, 2 are welded together to butt against each other downward from the upper side.
